T4 Front Pipe With Heat Shield - 1990-95 Non CAT Models

This front exhaust pipe is a direct replacement for early VW T4 Transporters fitted with the 1.9D (1X), 2.4D (AAB) and 2.0 AAC petrol engines built between 1990 and 1995. Designed to match original Volkswagen routing and dimensions, this pipe forms the crucial first section of the exhaust system, channelling hot gases from the exhaust manifold towards the centre silencer while maintaining correct back pressure for smooth and efficient engine performance. A properly functioning front pipe ensures quieter running, improved throttle response and reduced stress on the remainder of the exhaust system.

This version comes complete with the integrated heat shield, just like the factory unit. The shield protects surrounding components—including brake lines, gear-linkage and underfloor wiring—from excessive radiant heat, particularly during long motorway runs or heavy-load driving. The heavy-gauge construction and precise mandrel bends ensure correct fitment, proper sealing against the manifold, and long-term durability even on hardworking commercial vans.

Suitable for both Short Wheel Base (SWB) and Long Wheel Base (LWB) T4 models not fitted with a catalytic converter, this pipe fits directly to the original manifold flange and mates with the standard exhaust centre section. When fitting, we recommend replacing the manifold gasket, clamp, and any corroded fixings at the same time. Vehicles with older systems may also benefit from checking the condition of the centre silencer and rubber exhaust mounts while the system is apart.
