T4 Rocker Cover Stud Seal (1X,ABL,AAF,ACU,AAB)

This rocker cover stud seal (also known as a sealing cone) fits over the rocker cover studs and seals the joint between the rocker cover and the clamp washer when the cover is tightened down. It plays a vital role in preventing engine oil from seeping past the studs and appearing around the top of the rocker cover.
On VW T4 engines, these seals are exposed to constant heat and oil vapour. Over time they harden, shrink, or lose their sealing profile, which commonly results in persistent oil leaks even after fitting a new rocker cover gasket. Replacing the stud seals restores proper compression at each fixing point and ensures a clean, oil-tight installation.
Manufactured to the correct shape and material specification, this seal compresses evenly under load and is ideal for routine servicing, leak repairs, or full engine refresh work.

Sits on top of the rocker cover, around each mounting stud
Seals between the rocker cover and clamp washer
Prevents oil tracking up the stud threads
Works together with the rocker cover gasket for a complete seal

Fitting notes
Always replace stud seals when removing the rocker cover
Clean the rocker cover, washer, and stud before fitting
Tighten evenly and do not overtighten, as excess force can distort the seal
