T4 Rocker Cover Stud Seal (1X,ABL)

This rocker cover stud seal (also known as a sealing cone) fits over the rocker cover studs and seals the joint between the stud and the rocker cover on VW 1.9 diesel engines. Its role is critical: it prevents engine oil from tracking up the studs and leaking out around the top of the rocker cover.

On T4 1.9 diesel and turbo diesel engines, these seals harden and flatten with age and heat. When that happens, oil leaks commonly appear around the rocker cover nuts or washers, even if the rocker cover gasket itself has been replaced. Renewing these stud seals is essential whenever the rocker cover is removed.

This seal is manufactured to the correct profile to compress properly when tightened, restoring a reliable oil-tight seal and helping keep the engine bay clean and dry.

• 3 seals required per engine

Fitting notes

• Always replace these seals when renewing the rocker cover gasket

• Do not overtighten the rocker cover nuts—tighten evenly to avoid deforming the seal

• Clean the stud and rocker cover seat before installation
