This replacement rotor arm is designed for fuel-injected 1600cc Brazilian VW engines, as fitted to late Brazil Kombi vans. It is a direct-fit ignition component that restores accurate spark distribution from the distributor to each cylinder, ensuring smooth and reliable engine operation.
The rotor arm sits on top of the distributor shaft and rotates in time with the engine. As it spins, it transfers high-voltage current from the ignition coil to each terminal inside the distributor cap in the correct firing order. A worn, cracked, or burned rotor arm can cause misfires, hesitation, poor starting, or complete ignition failure. Replacing it is a simple but critical step in maintaining a healthy ignition system.
This rotor arm is specifically intended for fuel-injected 1600cc VWB engines used in Brazilian-built Baywindow-style Kombis. It is matched to the correct distributor type used on injection models and should not be confused with earlier carburettor variants.
