Inlet Manifold Base Gasket - 1900cc Waterboxer (DF, EY Engine Codes)

This standard inlet manifold to cylinder head gasket is designed for Volkswagen Type 25 / T3 buses fitted with 1.9 Waterboxer small-port carburettor engines using DF and EY engine codes. It provides a reliable seal between the inlet manifold and cylinder head, which is essential for correct carburettor operation and stable engine running.

On small-port carburettor Waterboxer engines, any air leak at the manifold can result in rough idle, hesitation, lean running, and poor fuel economy. This gasket restores the correct factory sealing surface, ensuring all intake air is drawn through the carburettor as intended.

Manufactured to original specification and 1mm thickness, this gasket is ideal for routine servicing, inlet manifold removal, or resolving vacuum leak issues on DF and EY engines.

How it works

The gasket seals the joint between the inlet manifold and cylinder head, preventing unmetered air from entering the intake system. Maintaining a tight seal at this point is critical for correct air–fuel mixture and smooth engine performance.
