Inlet Manifold Base Gasket - 1900cc Waterboxer (DG, SP Engine Codes)

This standard inlet manifold to cylinder head gasket is designed for Volkswagen Type 25 / T3 buses fitted with 1.9 Waterboxer large-port carburettor engines using DG and SP engine codes. It seals the joint between the inlet manifold and the cylinder head, ensuring a tight, leak-free connection essential for correct carburettor operation.

On carburetted Waterboxer engines, any air leak at the manifold can cause rough idle, hesitation, lean running, and poor fuel economy. This gasket restores the correct factory seal, preventing unmetered air from entering the intake system and helping maintain smooth, reliable engine performance.

Manufactured to original specification and 1mm thickness, this gasket is ideal for routine maintenance, intake removal, or curing vacuum leak issues on large-port carburettor setups.

How it works

The gasket seals the mating faces of the inlet manifold and cylinder head, ensuring that all intake air is drawn through the carburettor as intended. A sound gasket is critical for maintaining stable air–fuel mixture and consistent engine running.
