Waterboxer Crankshaft Main Oil Seal - Pulley End (Small)

This small pulley-end crankshaft main oil seal is designed for use on all 1900cc and 2100cc Waterboxer engines fitted to VW Type 25 / T3 buses from April 1983 to November 1990. It fits the pulley end of the crankshaft, sealing the rear of the engine at the crank pulley to prevent engine oil escaping during operation.

On Waterboxer engines, the crankshaft rotates at engine speed and passes through the crankcase at the pulley end. This oil seal sits precisely in the crankcase bore and runs against the crankshaft/pulley sealing surface, forming a tight barrier that retains engine oil while allowing smooth rotation. A correctly functioning seal is essential for maintaining oil pressure, preventing leaks onto the exhaust or drive belts, and keeping the engine bay clean.

It is a direct-fit replacement made to original dimensions, making it ideal for routine maintenance, engine rebuilds, or curing common oil leaks from the pulley end of the engine.

• Direct fit for non-Syncro models

• Syncro models: This seal can be used if the special seal ring on the back of the crankshaft pulley is removed, allowing the standard pulley-end seal to function correctly
