This full system to turbo Ramair performance intake kit is engineered for the EA888 1.8 TSI and 2.0 TSI engines used across the Volkswagen Group MQB platform. Unlike basic induction kits, this version includes the upgraded black powder-coated turbo elbow, ensuring improved airflow directly into the turbocharger.

This version features a red silicone intake pipe, with alternative silicone colour options available in black or blue.

What This Intake System Does

The factory intake system and OE turbo elbow are designed for refinement and emissions compliance. However, they can create airflow restriction — particularly on tuned or higher-output applications.

This complete intake system improves performance by:

• Replacing the restrictive airbox with a high-flow Ramair foam filter
• Installing a smooth-bore red silicone intake hose
• Upgrading the factory turbo inlet elbow
• Reducing airflow turbulence directly before the turbo

The result is:

• Sharper throttle response

• Faster turbo spool

• Stronger mid-range torque

• Improved high-RPM breathing

• Enhanced induction and turbo sound

How It Works

The EA888 turbocharged engine depends on smooth airflow to generate efficient boost. The OE turbo inlet elbow can act as a bottleneck before the compressor housing.

By upgrading the system all the way to the turbo:

1. Air enters through a large-surface Ramair foam filter.

2. The heatshield helps reduce engine bay heat soak.

3. The smooth silicone intake pipe maintains consistent airflow.

4. The upgraded turbo elbow removes restriction at the turbo inlet.

This allows the turbocharger to operate more efficiently, improving boost response and overall drivability.

The Ramair foam filter is fully reusable and easily cleaned using maintenance kit CK-003, making this a long-term upgrade rather than a disposable service part.
