This front brake disc is a direct replacement for all VW Baywindow buses from 1973 to 1979 fitted with the later 5×112 (standard small five) stud pattern. Manufactured to original specifications, it is also suitable for Brazilian Kombi models from 1997 to 2014, making it a versatile and reliable choice for maintenance or restoration.
What the part does & how it works
The front brake disc provides the friction surface for the front disc braking system. When the brake pedal is applied, hydraulic pressure forces the brake caliper pistons to clamp the brake pads against both sides of the disc. This friction converts kinetic energy into heat, slowing the rotation of the wheel and bringing the vehicle to a controlled stop.
A brake disc with correct thickness, offset, and surface finish is essential for consistent braking, good pedal feel, and even pad wear. Worn, warped, or excessively thin discs can cause vibration, pulling under braking, or reduced stopping power. This replacement disc restores proper braking performance and reliability.

This disc is suitable only for Baywindow models using the 5×112 hub setup and will not fit earlier wide-5 (5×205) vehicles.
Fitting notes
Supplied individually, however we strongly recommend replacing front brake discs in pairs to maintain balanced braking and even pad wear.
Always inspect brake pads when replacing discs and renew pads if worn or contaminated.
Check calipers, wheel bearings, and brake hoses during installation to ensure the braking system is in good condition.
After fitting, bed in the brakes correctly to achieve optimum performance and longevity.
