Chrome 12 volt Type 1 1968-1979 and T2 >1975 `not geared type` Hi Torque Starter Motor
This heavy duty starter motor has a rated power of 1.4kW producing more torque than the standard starter motor which is only rated at 0.7kW.
If you are running an eninge with high torque or high compression then the standard starter motor can sometimes struggle to turn the engine in order to get it started.
