Beetle Front Brake Disc - 1966-79 (Large 5 Stud for EMPI Disc Conversion Only)

This Wide 5 (5×205 PCD) front brake disc is a direct replacement disc for vehicles fitted with an EMPI front disc brake conversion kit on ball joint front suspension. It is designed only to replace worn or damaged discs supplied with the EMPI kit and will not fit standard 4-stud disc brake spindles or original factory disc setups.

These discs are commonly used when converting later Beetles to retain the classic Wide 5 stud pattern, allowing the use of original steel wheels or period-correct aftermarket wheels while benefiting from improved front disc braking performance.

The disc is a solid design, offering consistent braking performance for road use, with dimensions matched specifically to EMPI conversion calipers and hubs. When braking, the disc rotates with the wheel and is clamped by the brake pads within the caliper, converting kinetic energy into heat and slowing the vehicle. Correct disc thickness and diameter are critical for safe operation, pad alignment, and caliper clearance—this disc is manufactured to match EMPI specifications exactly.

Important:
This disc is not interchangeable with standard VW disc brake components and will not fit factory VW disc spindles. It is intended only as a replacement for EMPI kits AC6982885 and AC6982895.
