This front inner conversion wheel bearing is designed to allow later ball joint style brake discs to be installed onto early king pin front spindles fitted to pre-July 1965 VW Beetles and Karmann Ghias. These conversion bearings are commonly used when upgrading early drum brake models to later disc brake systems while retaining the original king pin front suspension setup.

The specially sized bearing bridges the dimensional differences between the early king pin spindle and the later ball joint disc hub, allowing the later disc assemblies to fit correctly without changing the complete front beam or spindle arrangement.
