Improve traction and reduce drivetrain movement with this gearbox rear truss bar (torque bar), designed to triangulate the shock towers and frame horns, significantly reducing engine and transmission flex under acceleration. This is a proven solution for combating wheel hop and improving power transfer in performance builds or spirited street driving.
Ideal for aircooled VW owners looking to stiffen up their rear suspension and drivetrain mounting points, this bar is fitted with adjustable rod ends that allow for preload tuning or vibration compensation, depending on your setup. It’s a particularly useful upgrade for vehicles with high-torque engines or upgraded clutches.
Fits all VW Beetles from 1961 onwards, including 1302 and 1303 models, as well as VW Karmann Ghias of the same era. Suitable for both Swing Axle and IRS rear suspension setups.
Please Note:
Not suitable for VW Trekker (Type 181).
Some installations may require minor trimming or modification to body panels for clearance, especially in tightly packaged engine bays or modified builds.
