1835cc Thick Wall Barrel And Piston Kit - 92mm Bore Type 1 Engines

This complete Thick Wall 1835cc barrel and piston kit is engineered as a high-performance upgrade for all Volkswagen Type 1 1300cc–1600cc aircooled engines. Featuring 92mm pistons paired with the standard 69mm crankshaft, the kit increases engine displacement to 1835cc, delivering improved torque, stronger mid-range power, and excellent drivability. Unlike conventional 92mm cylinders, these thick wall cylinders are a full 2mm stronger, offering outstanding rigidity, enhanced heat dissipation, and long-term reliability—making them ideal for performance engines, spirited driving, and demanding applications.

This kit is designed for engines that have already been machined for 90.5/92mm case spigots (as used for 1776cc and standard 1835cc builds) and 94mm cylinder heads (as used for 1914cc). Machine work on both the crankcase and cylinder heads is required for installation due to the larger 101mm head end and 97mm case end diameters. When correctly installed, the thick wall design provides superior cooling stability compared to thinner 92mm kits, reducing the risk of distortion under high temperature or load.
