Twin 40mm Kadron Carburettor Kit - Type 1 Engines

This dual 40 carburettor kit is a superb performance upgrade for all Twin Port Type 1 aircooled engines, offering excellent throttle response and improved power delivery without the high cost of a Weber setup. Featuring Brosol/Solex 40mm carburettors, this kit is engineered to bring smooth acceleration and stronger mid-range torque to engines up to 1835cc, making it ideal for fast-road builds and lively street engines.

Each carburettor comes pre-jetted with:

• 55 idle jet

• 130 main jet

• 150 air jet

These jet sizes provide a strong and balanced setup for most twin port engine combinations in the 1600–1835cc range, offering reliable running, crisp throttle response, and easy tuneability if required.

The kit includes cast EMPI intake manifolds, designed to maintain proper mixture flow to each cylinder while providing the durability expected from a well-engineered casting. The manifolds fit directly to the twin port heads, ensuring a snug, leak-free installation.

Topping off the system are chrome air cleaner assemblies fitted with washable gauze filters, providing both visual appeal and long-lasting filtration. These compact filters offer excellent airflow while maintaining enough clearance in the engine bay—particularly important on Beetles, Buses, Ghias, and other Type 1-powered vehicles.
