This good quality aluminium oil pump is manufactured by Schadek, a trusted OEM-standard supplier, and is a direct replacement for the original oil pump fitted to 1600cc aircooled Type 1 VW engines from 1971 to 1979 with 4-rivet or 4-bolt camshafts. Featuring oversized 30mm gears, this pump significantly increases oil flow and pressure, making it particularly well-suited for performance engines, or engines running remote oil coolers and external oil filters.
The increased capacity improves lubrication throughout the engine, helping to maintain consistent oil pressure under high-load or high-temperature conditions. This makes it a popular upgrade for modified street engines, off-road builds, and aircooled engines that operate under more demanding conditions.
Important Fitment Note:
This oil pump is only compatible with factory-style 4-rivet or 4-bolt camshafts.
It is not suitable for use with aftermarket camshafts from performance brands like Engle, Scat, or Eagle, which typically have different drive gear configurations.
