Hi Rev Valve Lash Caps

These hardened valve lash caps are engineered to protect the valve stem tips on high-performance air-cooled VW engines. Designed for 8mm stem valves, they prevent the stem tip from mushrooming under the extreme pressure produced by heavy-duty valve springs and aggressive camshaft profiles—common upgrades in tuned and spirited engines.

Manufactured from premium hardened steel, each lash cap provides a durable wear surface between the stem and rocker, dramatically increasing service life and reducing the likelihood of valve train damage. They are especially beneficial when running stainless steel valves, high-lift cams, dual valve springs, or any performance cylinder-head setup where increased loads are expected.

Each cap adds approximately 0.060″ / 1.5mm to the overall valve stem height, offering improved rocker geometry stability and ensuring consistent long-term performance. Sold as a complete set of 8 for both inlet and exhaust valves, these lash caps are an essential addition for anyone building, upgrading, or refreshing an air-cooled VW engine.

If fitting to engines with high-lift camshafts or ratio rockers, you may also need to check and adjust rocker geometry, pushrod length, and spring clearance for optimum reliability.
