Engle Cam Bolts

This pack of 3 cam gear bolts is manufactured by ENGLE and is designed specifically to secure the camshaft gear to the camshaft on VW Type 1 aircooled engines. These bolts are a critical fastening component, ensuring the cam gear remains securely mounted and correctly aligned during engine operation.

Correct cam gear retention is essential for maintaining accurate cam timing and preventing movement between the camshaft and gear under load. These ENGLE bolts are made to suit both standard and adjustable cam gears, making them ideal for stock rebuilds as well as performance and blueprint-style engine builds.

When fitting these bolts, it is important to check clearance between the bolt heads and the rear face of the oil pump. Depending on the cam gear, oil pump design, or engine case tolerances, the bolt heads may sit close to or contact the pump body. If fouling occurs, the bolt heads should be carefully ground or filed down slightly to achieve safe clearance, ensuring the camshaft rotates freely without interference.
