T4 Front Brake Disc (313mm Vented) - 2000-03

This replacement front brake disc is designed for Volkswagen Transporter T4 Buses built from May 2000 (chassis number 70-1-000955) through to June 2003, specifically for vans equipped with 16″ wheels from the factory and PR code 1LB.

With a 313mm outer diameter and 26mm thickness, this disc is a vented design, meaning it uses internal cooling vanes to draw air through the disc as it rotates. This airflow helps dissipate heat more effectively than a solid disc, reducing brake fade under heavy braking and improving overall stopping consistency—particularly important on heavier T4 vans that see frequent load carrying or motorway use.

The disc is supplied with a protective anti-corrosion coating to help prevent surface rust during storage and after fitting, while still allowing the braking surface to bed in correctly once in use. It mounts to the front axle using a 5-hole fixing pattern and is a direct replacement for the original factory-fitted disc on 16″ brake setups.

How it works

When you press the brake pedal, hydraulic pressure forces the brake caliper pistons to clamp the pads against the disc surfaces. The friction generated converts kinetic energy into heat. The vented internal structure allows this heat to escape more efficiently, maintaining braking performance and prolonging the life of both the disc and pads.
