T4 Rear Brake Caliper (280mm or 294mm Brake Discs) - Left (Lucus)

This rear brake caliper is a direct replacement for Volkswagen Transporter T4 Buses fitted with PR Code 2E2 or PR Code 2E3, covering vehicles built from February 1997 to June 2003, from chassis number 70-V-120000 onwards.

Designed for the left-hand side (passenger side on RHD vehicles), this caliper is manufactured to suit the Lucas rear braking system. It is compatible with T4 models using solid rear brake discs in both size variants fitted during this production period.

With a 38mm single piston, the caliper delivers reliable and even braking performance, ensuring consistent pad contact and stable braking under load. This unit is suitable for vehicles equipped with either 280mm or 294mm rear brake discs, depending on PR code and specification.

As with all braking components, it is strongly recommended to replace rear brake calipers in pairs. Doing so helps prevent uneven braking, sticking pistons, and imbalance between the left and right sides—particularly important for handbrake and rear brake efficiency.

How it works

Hydraulic pressure from the brake pedal forces the piston inside the caliper to press the brake pads against the disc, slowing the vehicle. The single-piston Lucas design ensures controlled braking force and reliable operation across a wide range of driving conditions.
