T4 Front Brake Disc (280mm Vented) - 1996-03 (ATE)

This front vented brake disc is a direct replacement for all Volkswagen Transporter T4 Buses built from January 1996 to June 2003 that are fitted with PR Code 1LE or PR Code 1LU, from chassis number 70-T-200000 onwards.

Featuring a 280mm diameter and 24mm thickness, this disc is designed for vehicles running 15-inch factory wheels and is compatible with the later framed and ATE brake systems used on these T4 models. The internally vented design improves heat dissipation under braking, helping to reduce brake fade and maintain consistent stopping performance—particularly important on heavier Transporters.

The disc is supplied with a protective anti-corrosion coating, preventing surface rust during storage and installation. Once fitted, the braking surface quickly beds in with new pads to provide smooth, predictable braking response.

This disc fits both left-hand (passenger side) and right-hand (driver’s side) front positions. Although sold individually, we always recommend replacing front brake discs in pairs to ensure even braking performance and balanced pad wear.

How it works

During braking, the caliper clamps the brake pads against the rotating disc to slow the vehicle. The internal ventilation channels draw cooling air through the disc as it spins, helping to control temperatures and improve braking consistency during repeated stops.

• Checked or renewed caliper guide pins

• Correctly torqued wheel bolts
