T4 Front Brake Disc (282mm Vented) - 1996-03 (Lucus)

This front solid brake disc is a direct replacement for all Volkswagen Transporter T4 Buses built from January 1996 to June 2003 that are fitted with PR Code 1LP (floating caliper brake system) and 15″ factory wheels.

Featuring a 282mm outer diameter and 18mm thickness, this disc is designed specifically for Lucas floating front brake calipers, as fitted to later T4 models from chassis number 70-T-200001 onwards. The solid disc design provides dependable braking performance for everyday driving, making it ideal for standard road use and regularly loaded Transporters.

The disc is supplied with a protective anti-corrosion coating, helping to prevent surface rust during storage and initial installation. Once fitted, the braking surface quickly beds in with new pads to deliver smooth, consistent braking feel.

This disc fits both the left-hand (passenger side) and right-hand (driver’s side) positions. Although sold individually, we strongly recommend replacing front brake discs in pairs to maintain balanced braking and even pad wear.

How it works

When braking, the floating caliper allows the brake pads to apply equal pressure to both sides of the disc. The solid disc design offers stable and predictable braking performance, well suited to the later T4’s braking system and vehicle weight.

Fitting & related parts

For best results, we recommend fitting this disc together with:

• New front brake pads

• Checked or renewed caliper guide pins

• Correctly torqued wheel bolts
