T4 Front Brake Disc (280mm Vented) - 1990-95 (Lucus)

This front vented brake disc is a high-quality replacement for all Volkswagen Transporter T4 Buses manufactured from September 1990 to December 1995 that are equipped with PR Code 1LE (framed caliper disc brakes) and 15″ factory wheels.

With a 280mm diameter and 24mm thickness, this disc is designed to work with the Lucas/Girling brake system fitted to early T4 models. The vented internal design allows heat to dissipate efficiently under braking, helping to reduce brake fade during repeated or heavy braking situations—particularly important on heavier Transporter vans.

The disc is factory coated to protect against corrosion during storage and initial use, keeping the hub and outer edges looking cleaner for longer. Once installed, the braking surface quickly beds in with the pads to deliver consistent, predictable braking performance.

This disc fits both left-hand (passenger side) and right-hand (driver’s side) front positions. Although sold individually, we always recommend replacing front brake discs in pairs to ensure even braking, balanced performance, and consistent pad wear.

How it works

When you press the brake pedal, hydraulic pressure forces the brake pads inside the caliper to clamp against the spinning brake disc. The vented channels between the disc faces pull cooling air through the disc as it rotates, keeping temperatures under control and maintaining braking efficiency.

Fitting & related parts

For best results, this disc should be fitted with:

• New front brake pads

• Cleaned or renewed caliper guide pins

• Correct wheel bolts tightened to factory torque settings
