Baywindow Bus Front Brake Pads - 1973-79 (Also Type 25 Front Brake Pads - 1979-85)

These replacement front brake pads are specifically designed for the late-style brake calipers fitted to Volkswagen Baywindow Buses from August 1972 to July 1979 and the Type 25 (T3/Wedge) Bus from 1979 to July 1985. As part of VW’s braking upgrade in mid-1972, these calipers feature a thicker and more robust design than their predecessors, significantly improving braking performance and safety.

This later brake system is easily identified by the use of 14mm bolts securing the caliper to the spindle, as opposed to the 12mm bolts found in earlier (1970–July 1972) models. These late calipers also accommodate larger brake discs and pads, making this pad set incompatible with early-style setups.

Each set includes four brake pads—enough to replace the friction material on both front calipers. With a 55mm pad gap, they ensure full compatibility with the larger caliper design, delivering excellent braking efficiency and reliable stopping power under all driving conditions.
