Splitscreen Bus Bullet Indicator Assembly With Amber Lens - 1956-63- Right

This complete right-hand bullet indicator assembly with amber lens is a high-quality reproduction for early Volkswagen Splitscreen Buses built up to 1964. Supplied as a full ready-to-install unit, it includes the base, seal, bulb holder and amber lens, making it an ideal replacement for damaged, corroded or missing original indicators.

This style of indicator was originally fitted to:

  • European Splitscreen Buses from 1958 to July 1963

  • US-market Splitscreens from 1956 to 1961

During this era, Volkswagen phased out semaphore trafficators. In March 1955, the US market moved to flashing indicators, while much of the rest of the world continued to use semaphores until June 1960, when these bullet-style indicators became standard.

By August 1961, the American market transitioned from the bullet design to the flatter “Fish Eye” indicators, along with enlarged tail lights. However, these changes were not introduced to the rest of the world until August 1963, making this style correct for restorers of all pre-1961 US buses and pre-1963 European buses.

Designed to fit the right side (driver’s side on RHD models), this assembly features accurate early styling and proportions, suitable for show-quality restorations and original-spec repairs.
