This interior light base is a direct-fit replacement for all Volkswagen Splitscreen Buses from the start to the end of production. Designed to restore proper illumination inside the cabin, this high-quality reproduction matches the original style and mounting pattern, making it suitable for cargo area, passenger compartment, or cab roof locations depending on model and trim level.
The light base houses two festoon-type bulbs and provides a secure electrical contact point to ensure consistent lighting. Over time, original units commonly corrode or suffer from poor connections, resulting in dim or intermittent interior lights. Replacing the base helps resolve these issues and restores a clean, reliable factory look.
This unit requires 2 × 38mm interior festoon bulbs, available in both 6V and 12V versions depending on your vehicle’s electrical system. Splitscreen Buses up to 1966 were originally 6V, with many upgraded to 12V today—ensure you select the correct bulb type.
