This universal 8-piece gear shift bush kit is designed to cover a wide range of classic Volkswagen buses from 1954 to 1992, providing all the essential bushes needed to refresh a worn or sloppy shift mechanism. Over time, shift linkage bushes become brittle, worn, or completely disintegrated, leading to vague gear selection, excessive play at the gear lever, rattling and difficulty engaging gears. Replacing these components restores crisp, precise gear changes and brings the shifting feel back to how Volkswagen intended.

This good-quality reproduction kit includes multiple front and rod bushes to suit different years and shift linkage layouts used throughout Splitscreen, Baywindow and early Type 25/T3 Buses. The kit includes eight pieces, allowing you to select the correct bush for your specific model year—ideal for workshops, restorers or anyone maintaining multiple buses.

For 4-speed Type 25/T3 models, the kit includes the lower gear shifter bushes (two required per vehicle). These components are critical for eliminating slop in the lower shift mechanism.
