This front brake disc, manufactured by ATE, is a top-quality OEM-grade replacement for all VW Baywindow buses from 1973 to 1979 fitted with the later 5×112 (standard small five) stud pattern. It is also suitable for Brazilian Kombi models from 1997 to 2014, making it an excellent choice where original braking performance and build quality are a priority.
What the part does & how it works
The front brake disc is the main friction surface of the front braking system. When the brake pedal is pressed, hydraulic pressure forces the caliper to clamp the brake pads against both faces of the disc. The friction generated converts motion into heat, slowing the wheel and safely bringing the vehicle to a stop.
High-quality discs are essential for consistent braking, smooth pedal feel, and even pad wear. Inferior or worn discs can cause vibration, brake fade, or pulling under braking. This ATE disc is precision machined to exact tolerances, ensuring excellent heat management, stable braking performance, and long service life.

This disc is designed only for vehicles using the 5×112 hub arrangement and will not fit earlier wide-5 (5×205) models.
Fitting notes
Supplied individually, however we always recommend replacing front brake discs in pairs to ensure balanced braking and even pad wear.
Always inspect brake pads when fitting new discs and replace if worn or contaminated.
Clean the disc surface with brake cleaner before installation to remove any protective residue.
After fitting, correctly bed in the brakes to achieve optimum performance and longevity.
