Baywindow Bus Steering Box Drop Arm - 1968-72 (LHD) (Also Splitscreen Bus 1955-67)

This steering box drop arm is a high-quality replacement for Left Hand Drive Volkswagen Splitscreen Buses from February 1955 onwards and all Early Baywindow Buses from 1967 to 1972. The drop arm, sometimes referred to as the pitman arm, connects the output shaft of the steering box to the drag link, transferring driver steering input to the front steering linkage.

Early Baywindow Buses retained the same steering box and drop arm style used on late Splitscreen models, making this component correct for both vehicle ranges. Over decades of use, the original arm can wear at the splines, become loose at the drag link joint or suffer from corrosion—leading to vague steering, wandering and increased play at the wheel. Replacing a worn drop arm restores direct, predictable steering performance and ensures safe operation.

Manufactured to OE specification, this replacement provides the correct arm geometry and spline pattern for early steering boxes. Note: this version is for LHD models only. RHD buses use a different arm with a different offset.
