This steering box drop arm is a high-quality replacement designed specifically for Left Hand Drive Brazilian-built Volkswagen Baywindow Buses manufactured between 1997 and 2005. The drop arm—also known as the pitman arm—connects the steering box output shaft to the drag link, transferring the driver’s steering input directly to the front axle linkage.
Brazilian Baywindows continued using a unique combination of late-model steering components not found on German-built buses, making correct-fit replacement parts essential. A worn drop arm can cause vague steering, increased play, uneven response and unsafe road handling. Replacing it restores crisp steering behaviour and ensures reliable connection between the steering box and drag link.
This OE-spec replacement matches the original Brazilian steering box spline pattern and arm geometry. It is suitable only for LHD vehicles—RHD Brazilian models were never factory produced and use converted steering systems requiring different components.
