Baywindow Bus Air Filter Breather Elbow - 1974-79

This Oil Breather Elbow Hose is designed to fit between the oil filler neck and the air filter box on all Volkswagen Baywindow Buses built from 1974 to 1979. It plays a vital role in the engine’s crankcase ventilation system by allowing oil vapours to be routed back into the air intake, reducing emissions and maintaining clean internal engine operation.

Manufactured from high-quality, oil-resistant rubber, this hose is shaped to the correct elbow profile for a perfect fit within the engine bay of Type 4 aircooled engines. Over time, the original hoses can become brittle or cracked due to heat and oil exposure, causing oil leaks and unwanted vapour loss. Replacing it helps maintain proper crankcase pressure and prevents oily residue buildup in the engine compartment.
