This rear brake drum is a direct replacement for Volkswagen models running rear drum brakes with ABS and the 4×100 stud pattern. With a 200mm internal braking diameter and 40mm inner drum height, it’s made to match the factory dimensions so your brake shoes sit correctly, the self-adjusters work as intended, and the drum runs true for smooth, consistent braking.

On drum-braked cars, the brake drum is the rotating friction surface. When you press the brake pedal, hydraulic pressure pushes the wheel cylinder pistons apart, forcing the brake shoes outward so their linings contact the inside of the drum. That friction slows the rear wheels, helping stabilise the car under braking and balancing the overall brake bias. On ABS-equipped vehicles, keeping the drum and hub assembly in good condition is especially important—excessive wear, ovality, or heat cracking can contribute to vibration, uneven braking, and inconsistent rear brake performance.

This drum suits vehicles with the 4-stud / 4-hole arrangement (4×100 PCD) and is ideal when your original drum is worn oversize, heavily scored, warped, or contaminated (often from a leaking wheel cylinder or hub seal).
