This replacement handbrake cable is a good quality reproduction designed specifically for VW Beetles and Karmann Ghias from 1968 to 1972 that are equipped with Swing Axle rear suspension. Measuring 1783mm in length, this cable restores proper handbrake function, helping to ensure safe parking and reliable emergency braking.
Handbrake cables wear over time, becoming stretched, frayed, or seized—especially in older aircooled models. Replacing a faulty cable restores tension and responsiveness to the parking brake system. This cable is a direct fit for Swing Axle models only and will not fit IRS (Independent Rear Suspension) models introduced after 1972.
