This standard gas-filled front shock absorber is designed for all ball joint front suspension Beetles and Karmann Ghias from 1965 onwards. Gas-charged shocks offer improved damping performance over older oil-filled types, providing better control, reduced body roll and a more stable, comfortable ride—ideal for maintaining the classic feel of your VW while improving road handling.
Manufactured by COFAP, a well-known OE supplier for classic Volkswagen suspension components, this shock absorber delivers reliable, consistent performance with long service life. It is a direct replacement for the original front shock and installs using the existing mounting hardware with no modifications required.
The internal gas pressure helps minimise foaming and fade under repeated bumps, ensuring your steering and braking remain stable even on uneven roads. Perfect for everyday road use on stock-height vehicles.
