This heater muffler is a good quality reproduction designed to fit between the heat exchanger and the chassis heater duct on VW Beetles and Karmann Ghias manufactured from 1969 to 1979. Its primary function is to carry warm air from the heat exchangers into the cabin, playing a key role in your aircooled VW`s heating system.
