This standard clutch return spring is a good quality reproduction part that fits to the clutch operating arm on the side of the gearbox on VW Beetles, Karmann Ghias, Type 3s, and Buggies/Bajas manufactured from August 1971 to April 1974.
The spring connects to the clutch arm (also known as the clutch release or operating arm) and provides tension to pull the arm back once the clutch pedal is released, helping to fully disengage the clutch release bearing from the pressure plate. Without a functioning return spring, the clutch may drag, wear prematurely, or feel inconsistent.
