6 Volt Choke

This replacement 6-volt choke unit is a quality reproduction designed to fit standard Solex carburettors found on classic aircooled VW engines. It restores proper cold-start functionality by regulating the choke flap during engine warm-up, ensuring smoother starting and driveability in all weather conditions.

The unit features the correct 6V resistance coil and connection terminal, allowing direct replacement of worn or non-functional original choke elements. It is especially suited for restored vehicles still running a 6V electrical system, maintaining period accuracy and original operation.

Designed to install easily on Solex 28 and 30 series carburettors, this choke fits within the round housing on the carb’s right-hand side. Once installed and adjusted correctly, it engages automatically on cold starts and gradually opens as engine heat increases, improving idle and drive-off performance.
