Type 1 Chassis To Fuel Pump Metal Fuel Line

Solid metal fuel line for Type 1 based aircooled VW engines, used between the chassis fuel outlet and the fuel pump area.

This pipe passes through the rear engine tinware above the gearbox and provides a safer solid section of fuel line where the pipework runs close to metal edges and moving engine parts. Rubber fuel hose is then used to connect from the chassis fuel line to this metal pipe, and again from the pipe to the mechanical fuel pump.

Using a metal fuel line in this area helps reduce the risk of a rubber hose rubbing, splitting or being cut by sharp tinware or chassis edges. It is an important safety part on aircooled Volkswagens, especially where old rubber hose has been incorrectly routed through the rear tinware.

May require careful shaping to suit the vehicle and engine tinware. Always fit using quality fuel hose, correct fuel hose clips and inspect the full fuel system when installing.
