This standard replacement crankshaft pulley is a faithful reproduction of the original design used on Type 1 aircooled engines found in classic Volkswagens, including the VW Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Baywindow, and Splitscreen Buses. With a diameter of 175mm, it is engineered to deliver proper belt speed and cooling fan performance, ensuring reliable engine cooling and charging.
The crankshaft pulley plays a crucial role by driving the fan belt that powers the generator or alternator and cooling fan. Over time, original pulleys can wear down, become unbalanced, or rust—leading to belt slippage, overheating, or vibration. This reproduction pulley restores both function and factory-correct appearance, making it ideal for restorations or routine maintenance.
Manufactured to match stock specifications, this pulley offers a straightforward bolt-on fit. Note: The pulley bolt and washer are sold separately—please order part numbers 111105263A (bolt) and 111105259 (washer) if replacements are needed.
