This is the seal that fits into the front quarter panel on all Beetles from 1960 onwards.

The speedo cable passes through the centre and it somes the cable being damaged from vibrations on the bodywork.

Left-hand drive Type 3 models are not compatible with this cable and instead require a Karmann Ghia-type speedo cable.

Installation is straightforward but may require a front grease cap with a square drive hole for proper engagement with the cable tip. It is recommended to inspect the speedometer head and wheel-end connection for wear or damage before installation.
