Beetle Crotch Cooler Grill Set - 1951-52

This Beetle Crotch Cooler Grill Set is a faithful reproduction of the rare and distinctive air vent grilles fitted to the Split-Window Deluxe Beetles from April 1951 to September 1952.

Known among enthusiasts as “Crotch Coolers,” these unique external air vents were installed in the lower front quarter panels to direct fresh air into the cabin, improving comfort for the driver and passenger. When opened, they provided ventilation directly to the footwell area — an innovative feature for early Beetles of the period.

This set includes both left and right-hand grilles, precisely pressed and shaped to match the original factory design. Perfect for concours restorations or high-quality rebuilds, these grilles restore one of the most iconic and distinctive design details of the final Split-Window Deluxe models.
