Beetle Crotch Cooler Set - 1951-52

From April 1951 to September 1952 the very last of the Split-Window Deluxe Beetles were installed with opening external air vents in the front quarter panels.

These Beetles are often reffered to as `Crotch Cooler Beetle`.

Splitwindow Beetles were not fitted with front quarter light windows in the doors like you might be more familiar with.  Instead VW came up with this novel idea of installing vents in the front quarter panels.  Once open fresh air could enter the Beetle around your lap.  Hence the nick name` Crotch Cooler`.

Anyway these were only installed on Deluxe Sedan and Cabrio models for around 18 months.  After which VW decided to ditch the design in favour of the all new quarter light window which was installed on all Beetles thereafter.

If you are lucky enough to own one of these Crotch Cooler Beetles then you may be in the position where you need replacement crotch coolers because yours are damaged or missing.
