This front cross panel—also known as the bulkhead behind the pedals—is a high-quality replacement part for Volkswagen Beetles built between 1958 and 1967. Sitting directly on top of the Napoleon hat, this structural panel supports the pedal assembly, master cylinder mounting area and the lower firewall section, making it a critical part of the front floor and bulkhead structure.
Over decades of use, this area commonly suffers corrosion from water ingress, brake fluid leaks, and pedal cluster fatigue. This replacement panel restores strength and factory geometry to the front pedal area, ensuring correct alignment of the master cylinder, pedal assembly and front floor panels.
This panel is produced in LHD configuration, but can be adapted for RHD Beetles by modifying or relocating the appropriate pedal and master cylinder openings—standard practice during UK and Australian restorations. Supplied in raw metal, the panel is ready for trimming, test fitting, drilling and welding.
Suitable for both daily-driver rebuilds and show-level restorations, this cross panel completes the lower bulkhead area when combined with the appropriate firewall skin.
