This outer skin for the front cross panel is a high-quality reproduction firewall section for Volkswagen Beetles built between 1952 and 1960. Designed to weld directly to the rear face of the front cross panel, it completes the entire bulkhead assembly and forms the structural and sealing surface between the front trunk and the cabin.
Running from the back of the cross panel up to the bottom edge of the dashboard, this panel creates the main firewall on early Beetles—an area that commonly suffers from rust, fatigue and distortion due to pedal assembly stress, moisture retention and heater channel decay. When restoring Oval-era and early 1960s Beetles, replacing both the cross panel and this outer skin ensures a strong, correctly shaped lower bulkhead.
Manufactured in LHD configuration, the panel can be modified for RHD use by relocating pedal, steering column and master cylinder openings as required. The metal is supplied in raw, bare finish, ready for trimming, drilling, welding and final preparation.
Produced with precise pressings and DKB-level quality (if matching the cross panel), this component ensures proper alignment of the pedal cluster, floorpan, Napoleon hat and lower dashboard structure—critical for accurate restorations.
