Type 1 Camshaft Bearing Set - Double Thrust

These double thrust camshaft bearings are designed to fit all standard Volkswagen Type 1 aircooled engines, but are particularly recommended for high-performance and high-RPM builds. Unlike standard single-thrust bearings, this upgraded design features an additional thrust bearing to better handle the increased side loads generated by heavy-duty valve springs, high-lift camshafts, or performance cam profiles.

The extra thrust surface provides greater stability and reduces wear on the camshaft and case thrust surfaces, improving reliability in engines that operate at higher revs or with aggressive valve train components. Ideal for use in engines from 1200cc to 1915cc, these bearings are precision-machined for smooth operation and long service life.

Each set includes six bearings—enough for one complete engine. They are manufactured from high-quality bearing material and are compatible with both stock and performance camshafts.

Installation Note:
Each thrust bearing includes a locating tang. When fitting the second thrust bearing, you must either file off the tang or machine a groove in the bearing seat to accommodate it. Professional installation is recommended for best results.
