This fully welded clutch cross shaft is the perfect upgrade for any high-performance or heavily loaded VW Baywindow (1976–1979) or Type 25 (T3) Bus (1979–1992).
Designed to handle the additional stress of uprated engines and heavy-duty clutches, the shaft is welded 360° around the arms, unlike the original VW versions that were only tack welded. Tack welds are prone to cracking or failure under load, whereas this reinforced version ensures superior durability and reliability in demanding conditions.
This shaft is suitable for models fitted with 200mm or 215mm clutches, as well as 228mm clutches used on 2000cc Type 4 engines. It is also compatible with late-style clutch release bearings, which feature integrated retaining clips to lock directly onto the shaft arms — no more fiddling with loose clips.
