Heat Exchanger Elbow - Left - Type 4 Engines

This good quality heat exchanger elbow is designed for all VW Baywindow Campers from 1972 to 1979 fitted with 1700cc, 1800cc and 2000cc Type 4 (pancake) engines, as well as VW Type 25 Buses from 1980 to 1983 equipped with the 2000cc aircooled engine.

Fitted on the left-hand side (RHD passenger side), this elbow connects the heat exchanger to the main hot air pipe on the chassis, forming a crucial part of the heating system. A corroded or missing elbow can cause heat leaks, fumes entering the cabin or a complete loss of warm airflow. Replacing it restores proper routing of hot air from the engine through to the front of the bus.

Manufactured to OE-style dimensions, this elbow provides a reliable fit on all European-spec Type 4 exhaust and heating systems.
Important: This part does not fit US-spec heat exchangers, which use a different connection design.
