Chrome Oil Filter (Fits Most VW Models)

If you’re mad about chrome and want the perfect finishing touch for your engine bay, this chrome screw-on oil filter cartridge is the ideal upgrade. Designed to fit all of our aftermarket external oil filter heads for aircooled Volkswagen engines, this filter combines reliable filtration performance with a polished, show-quality appearance. The smooth chrome finish looks great on custom engines, show cars, buggies, and detailed engine builds where presentation matters just as much as performance.

Functionally, it performs just like the standard screw-on filter (VW reference 056115561G), providing efficient oil filtration and maintaining proper oil pressure within any external full-flow system. Whether you’re using a remote filter head, full-flow pump cover, or complete external cooling setup, this chrome filter is a direct replacement for the commonly used HP1/Golf-type filter. Installation is easy—simply screw it onto your existing aftermarket filter head.

Please note that this filter is not suitable for Type 4 aircooled engines. For those models, refer to part number 021115351A.

In addition to aircooled VW setups, this chrome filter is also compatible with a wide range of water-cooled VW, Audi, and Porsche engines that originally use the 056115561G-type filter. The fitment list includes popular classics such as the Golf Mk1 & Mk2, Caddy Mk1, Scirocco, Jetta, Polo, and Porsche 924, with support across numerous petrol engine codes.
