G2 190mm Clutch Kit - 1.0-1.3

This 190mm clutch kit is a complete replacement solution for a wide range of classic small-capacity Volkswagen petrol models from the 1980s and early 1990s. Designed with a 24 tooth (24 spline) friction plate and supplied with a matching clutch release bearing, it restores smooth gear changes, correct pedal feel and reliable power transfer.

The clutch system connects the engine to the gearbox. When you press the clutch pedal, the release bearing pushes against the diaphragm spring in the pressure plate, lifting it away from the friction disc. This temporarily disconnects drive so you can change gear. When you release the pedal, the pressure plate clamps the 190mm friction disc tightly against the flywheel, transferring engine torque through the 24-tooth hub into the gearbox input shaft.

Over time, the friction material wears down, causing slipping under load, high biting points or judder when pulling away. Replacing the complete kit – friction disc, pressure plate and release bearing – ensures even clamping force and long service life.
