This 50mm aluminium corrugated warm-air hose is primarily used on air-cooled Volkswagen engines to connect the fan shroud outlets to the heat exchangers (heater boxes), ensuring correct airflow for cabin heating and effective engine temperature control.
With a 1000mm length and 50mm internal diameter, one hose is typically long enough to cut in half and replace both left and right heater box hoses on Type 1 engines. If you are also replacing the warm-air pre-heat hose from the air cleaner to the exhaust tinware, a second hose will be required.
Manufactured from corrugated aluminium, this version offers increased durability and resistance to moisture, heat, and oil contamination compared to traditional cardboard hoses. It is ideal for long-term use, upgraded engines, or vehicles driven regularly, while still maintaining a period-correct appearance.
The hose can also be used anywhere a 50mm internal diameter air duct is required, making it suitable for a wide range of classic and later Volkswagen applications.
